Night Patrol

Night patrol aims to maintain community peace, security, and safety.

Our staff provide safe strategies for vulnerable people who are at risk. They provide food and water if the community members are in need. It is a community response to reduce offenses and criminal activity and antisocial behaviours.

Night Patrol has a core function that provides a basic service such as safe transportation, diversion from contact with the criminal justice system, and intervention to prevent disorder in communities which constitute the core function of patrols.

However, the research found that many patrols are developing sophisticated case-work arms and are engaging in multi-agency liaisons in their localities. It is apparent that patrols have emerged to deal with specific local issues not addressed by other bodies.
